Malacañang on Friday said it’s up to President Rodrigo Duterte on whether he will name the presidential aspirant he accused of using cocaine.
“We will leave to the sound judgement of the President. Nasa discretion na ng Pangulo kung papangalan ba niya at kung kelan kung magdedesisyon siya na pangalanan ‘yung indibidwal na yan,” acting presidential spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said in a virtual presser.
When asked if Duterte’s claim against the presidential hopeful will be investigated, Nograles said it’s “safe to assume” that law enforces are investigating intel reports against those allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
“Yung ating mga law enforcement agencies, especially the drug enforcement agencies, syempre alam naman nila ang kanilang mandato. So. whatever social status at kung sino man ang mga may nakukuhang intel reports, alam na po ng ating mga law enforcement agencies kung anong dapat gawin,” he furthered.
On Thursday, Duterte claimed that male presidential candidate, whom he described as a “very weak leader, except for the name,” in the 2022 national elections is into cocaine.
