Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has caught the coronavirus, enduring some mild symptoms.
Sotto announced on Twitter on Saturday that he tested positive for COVID-19. The young politiko however asked his constituents not to worry, saying he will continue to work remotely even as he undergoes seven-day isolation.
“Hi everyone, bad news, I’ve tested positive for covid-19. I have sore throat, fever, and body aches, but please don’t worry! I’ll continue to work remotely while in isolation for the next 7 days,” he tweeted.
Sotto, recognizing the spread of the Omicron variant, urged the public to take extra health precautions to avoid getting infected and passing the virus to others.
“Naka ilan close call ako sa Delta (gaya nung sa driver ko) pero di ako nahawaan,” he said.
“Matindi talaga ang pagkalat ng Omicron variant– sabi nga ng ibang eksperto, LAHAT TAYO ay mae-expose dito. Kaya laging mag-iingat, magpalakas tayo ng katawan, at maging responsable pag may sintomas,” he added.
