MANILA, Philippines — The country will have generally fair Sunday weather, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Based on Pagasa’s public weather forecast on Thursday, the northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will prevail over Luzon.
The Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and northern Quezon including the Polillo Islands will have cloudy skies with light rain due to the northeast monsoon.
The weather system will likewise bring fair weather conditions or partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated light rain over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
Fairweather conditions or partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced over Visayas and Mindanao brought by localized thunderstorms.
A gale warning is raised over the following areas due to the prevailing northeast monsoon:
-northern coast of Camarines Sur
-eastern coast of Sorsogon
-eastern coast of Surigao del Norte
-Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands
-Surigao del Sur
Moreover, the low-pressure area spotted east of Visayas on early Saturday has already dissipated, Pagasa said.
“Makikita natin dito sa ating satellite imagery na natunaw na nga ‘yung low pressure area na namataan natin kaninang madaling araw at ‘yung bagyong si Nyatoh ay tuluyan na nga ring nalusaw dito sa ating labas ng Philippine area of responsibility (PAR),” Pagasa weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said.
(We can see in our satellite imagery that the low-pressure area has dissolved and Typhoon Nyatoh has likewise dissolved outside the Philippine area of responsibility.)
No weather disturbance is expected to be formed and to enter the PAR within the next three days, Ordinario said.
