No festive interpros as Ulster vs Connacht succumbs to Covid

Ulster’s St Stephen’s Day interprovincial clash with Connacht has been postponed due to Covid-19 cases within the Ulster squad.

The URC medical advisory group has liased with the northern province and local health authorities determined that the game cannot go ahead.

The URC will consider alternative dates for the fixture.

Ticketholders for the game at Kingspan Stadium have been told that their tickets will be valid for whenever the rearranged clash takes place.

The news comes after the other festive interpro between Leinster and Munster in Thomond Park also fell foul of positive tests within the Leinster camp.

With confirmed cases now affecting both Leinster and Ulster, no announcement has yet been made on their New Year’s Day clash in Belfast.
