Mallika Dua Father and Famous Journalist Vinod Dua No More


Mumbai: Comedian Mallika Dua’s father and famous journalist Vinod Dua passed away on Saturday i.e December 4. He was 67. Mallika took to social media and confirmed the news. She shared a picture of her father and wrote, “Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power. Mallika Dua Confirms Her Father and Journalist Vinod Dua’s Death

Dua was hospitalised in a Delhi hospital. He was also diagnosed with COVID-19 earlier this year when spent several days under intensive care. Last week, when he was admitted to the hospital due to post coronavirus complications, his daughter Mallika shared a health update and mentioned that he was ‘beyond critical’. Dua was known for questioning the government with his journalism. He worked as a news anchor for several years in a number of organisations including the national broadcaster Doordarshan.

In June this year, Vinod Dua’s wife Dr Padmavati Dua also passed away due to coronavirus complications. She was popularly known as Chinna Dua. Back then, daughter Mallika had confirmed the news on social media writing,  ”She left us last night. My whole heart. My whole life. The only god I know. My Amma I’m sorry I couldn’t save you. You fought so hard mama. My precious. My heart. You’re my whole life.”
